Barbara S. Hunt

Barbara Simmons Hunt, 90, Brookshire Ave., Winter Park, passed away peacefully on May 22, 2026, with loved ones. She was born Aug. 4, 1935, in Queens, New York, the daughter of Charles and Ella Simmons. In July 1952, she married John C. Hunt Jr. (deceased) & was a busy homemaker as the mother of 5 children. Barbara enjoyed the simple pleasures of life – bird watching in the back yard, walking her beloved dog “Bear” in the park, shopping on weekends, and an occasional trip to the beach. 

Barbara was close to her children – in proximity as much as possible and in heart – and always looked out for them, even when well into their 60s & 70s. She had a humble, honest, and beautiful spirit, and truly followed the Golden Rule, which she often quoted – “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” She will be greatly missed by her family. Children: Daughter, Barbara L. Browning (Oviedo), sons John C. Hunt, III (Casselberry), Victor D. Hunt (deceased), Steve T. Hunt (Winter Park), and Dave G. Hunt (Casselberry). Grandchildren: Kristen M. Melton, Alan S. Browning, and Matthew D. Browning. Great grandchildren: Jack, Kate, and Anna Melton.
