She was born in Santo Domingo, Dominican republic. She was a retired clerk for the United States Postal Service. Belkis loved cooking, the beach and her cocker spaniel Imo.
Belkis is survived by her mother Petronila Pura Pena; sisters, Rosario (Victor) Pabon of Orlando, FL and Margarita Capellan, brothers, Rafael Pena and William De La Cruz; nieces, Aileen Capellan, Marlene C. Perez, Haydee Capellan and Jolene C. Pena, nephew, Irving R. Pena; step-son, Mac Lee Urena.
