Beverly Ann Braskett

Beverly Ann Braskett departed this earthly life on Friday, April 25, 2025, at Oviedo, Florida. The Lord granted her a time of grace on this earth of 95 years, 5 months and 16 days, and then called her home to heaven.

Beverly Ann Ziemer was born on November 9, 1929, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the daughter of Paul and Ann Ziemer nee Umlaust. Essie was reborn through the water and the word of Holy Baptism, as an infant at Jordan Lutheran Church, in West Allis, Wisconsin. She married Walter P. Braskett on February 28, 1953, also at Jordan Lutheran. Pastor E.A. Knief officiated. They were blessed with one son, John, born in Milwaukee on April 26, 1957.

Beverly cared for her son during serious childhood illnesses. Later we worked for Hal Leonard Music Co. of Milwaukee, the largest printer of music in the United States. She became one their top salespeople. Through her work, she traveled throughout the United States. Beverly enjoyed crafts and art and quilting. She and her husband often wintered in the Orlando area, staying with John who came to work here. She became a member of Risen Savior Lutheran Church after moving permanently to live with her son in Winter Park.

Beverly was a very active member of her church in Milwaukee and participated as much as she could here in Orlando. She was involved in many church-connected organizations, including a resale shop for Wisconsin Lutheran High School, our Lutheran Women’s Mission Society as well as the Central Africa Medical Mission, She supported WELS Lutherans for Life, Time of Grace Ministries, WELS Kingdom Workers including Builders for Christ, the Wisconsin Lutheran High School Foundation and Wisconsin Lutheran Institutional Ministries. She supported scholarships for students at Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary in Milwaukee, WI and started the John P. Braskett Endowment Scholarship Fund for students at Martin Luther College in New Ulm, MN

Beverly was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Walter who was called home on December 15, 2005 as well as her son, John who was called home to heaven on April 4, 2024. Survivors include cousins Pat Snodgrass of Tennessee and Audrey Behling of Milwaukee, as well as her church family and many friends.

A special memorial service will be held at Risen Savior Lutheran Church, 1331 S. Alafaya Trail, Orlando FL 32828, on Monday, May 19, 2025 at 4:00 pm.

Her remains will be laid to rest, along with her son John’s, at Wisconsin Memorial Park, 13235 W. Capitol Dr., Brookfield WI.
