Buenaventura Hernandez

Buenaventura Hernández, born in Camuy, Puerto Rico, passed away peacefully at his home in Orlando, Florida, on Thursday evening, September 4, 2025, at the age of 88.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 63 years, Aida Luz; his beloved daughter, Olga Vázquez (José); four cherished grandchildren, Laura (Brandin), Jessica (Nicole), Joshua (Isis), and Lisa (Codie); and seven treasured great-grandchildren, Jasmin, Brandin Jr., Sophia, Iriselis, Emma, Caiden, and Cassian. He is also survived by ten brothers (three of whom preceded him in death) and three sisters.

Buenaventura will be remembered for his deep love of family, the joy and passion he found in music and dance, his love for playing dominoes, and the kindness he shared with all who knew him.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 10, 2025 from 3:00 - 7:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, East Orlando Chapel.  The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, September 11, 2025 at 10:00 AM at St. Isaac Jogues Catholic Church with entombment to follow at Glen Haven Memorial Park, Winter Park, FL.
