In Loving Memory of Calixto Peter Anaya aka “Charlie”
September 4, 1946 – June 1, 2026
Calixto Peter Anaya lovingly known as Charlie, was born in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico, and raised in New York City. One of seven children, he grew up with humble beginnings, but he never let that define his future. Through hard work, determination, and a commitment to his family, he built a life filled with love joy financial stability, security, and purpose.
Charlie was a man you could always count on. If he gave you his word, he kept it. He was an advisor, decision maker, provider, a protector, and a trusted confidant. He had a way of making people feel safe, heard, and cared for.
A man of intellect, curiosity, and integrity. Charlie had a love for aviation, engineering and aerospace, topics that fascinated him. He was an Aeronautical Engineer for 60 years and had worked with Pan American Airlines, Lockheed Martin, Huntington Ingalls and Saudi Aramco Oil company. He retired as an Instructional System Development, ISD Specialist in the fields of industrial, technical and engineering and authored a book entitled, Knowledge Transfer (KT). Once you and your company achieve the KT program goals, your company can maintain and be able to maintain the achieved highly skilled and competence level. He was an experienced and an ISD expert author, leaving behind not only his proven data analysis, & written work but also the knowledge and insight he generously shared with others.
One of the greatest joys of Charlie's life was his family. He carried immense pride in all of his children, including his son, Calixto Anaya Jr., a firefighter who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to others on September 11, 2001. Though no parent should ever have to endure such a loss, Charlie carried his son's memory with profound love and pride.
Charlie is survived by his beloved wife for 21 years, Emily; his children, Calixto Anaya Jr., David Anaya , Melissa Anaya, Calixto Gabriel Anaya and his cherished grandchildren, Kristina Marie, Ruben, Brandon, Rebecca, Lourdes, and David.
His legacy lives on and the values he passed down: loyalty, hard work, integrity, and always being there for the people who matter most. Though we will miss him every day, we are grateful for the love he gave us and the example he set.
We will carry him in our hearts forever.
