Listen to Obituary

Marion Carol Lynch “Carol”, 88, died unexpectedly on September 27, 2025. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her immediate family and those who loved and adored her. Carol was born on February 8, 1937, in Utila, Honduras, the smallest of Honduras’ major Bay Islands, a daughter of the late Edward and Celeste Thompson.

Carol was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, James R. Lynch, her sons Steven and Brayn Lynch and her sister Hilda Santore.

Carol is survived by her brother and sister-in-law Edward and Cass Thompson, two sons and three daughters-in-law, James R. Lynch “Jay” and Debbie Alvis, Dan and Debbie Lynch, and Tricia Lynch. Five grand children and three of their spouses, Taylor and Austin Hurley, Dillon Lynch, Ashley and Grady McCullough, Kyle Lynch and Drew and Lauren Lynch. She also leaves behind four great great grandchildren and many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.

Carol was a resident of Oviedo, FL for the past 29 years where she and her beloved Jimmy eventually settled after their retirement in 1986. They would enjoy countless sunsets over Long Lake in their golden years and always had an open house for their friends and family looking forward to the next opportunity to play host.

At the age of 19, Carol moved to Tampa, FL where she would meet a young airman stationed at McDill Airforce Base on a blind date. It was love at first sight, in a few short months after Jimmy was honorably discharged from the Airforce they would be married.

Carol was much more than a homemaker; she was the bedrock of a marriage that made up a dynamic duo. From humble beginnings and suffering form traumatic losses early in their marriage little did they know that their devotion to one another would result in them living out the American dream of health, wealth and happiness.

Carol’s dedication to her family and friends was unparalleled. Through her carriable giving and a life well lived she set an example for all to follow. She leaves behind a legacy to be admired and will not be soon forgotten.
