Carolyn Greenwood passed away peacefully in her home in Longwood, Florida, on August 12, 2025, at the age of 81. She was born on October 3, 1943, in Lynchburg, Virginia to the late Henry and Dorothy Dugger.
Carolyn dedicated her career to teaching, shaping the minds and lives of countless students before her well-earned retirement. In her later years, she embraced life fully—spending time with her close circle of girlfriends, dancing, and going to the gym. Carolyn never left the house without being dressed to impress; her style and class were matched only by her grace and beauty.
She is survived by her son, Marc Padgett (Nicole) of Jacksonville; six grandchildren, Laurelee, Kerrigan, Kennedy, Hunter, Lexi, and Ethan; her brother, Dennis (Pam) of Pensacola; her nephew, Phillip; and two nieces, Jennifer and Kathryn. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Dorothy.
Per her wishes, she will be laid to rest in Jacksonville, Florida where her family resides. She will be remembered for her elegance, her friendship, and her unwavering love for family—gifts that will be treasured for generations.
