Christopher Howard Ross, 51, passed away peacefully at home on July 10, 2025. He was the devoted husband of Showmay Chiang Ross, with whom he shared 29 wonderful years of love and partnership.
Chris had much pride in his stepdaughters, Diana and Angela, and found so much joy in hearing stories about his grandchildren, Kylie and Landon. Nothing made him light up quite like sharing in their adventures and milestones.
Born in Wilmington, North Carolina, Chris was the beloved son of Martin Hamilton Ross, Jr. and Ruby Ann Shackleford Ross. Growing up alongside his brother Martin, he spent his boyhood days immersed in adventure—playing football and baseball, biking through the neighborhood, shooting targets, and enjoying just about any sport or outdoor activity they could dream up.
Chris attended Lake Mary High School and went on to dedicate 17 years of his life to Seminole County Public Schools, proudly serving as the Dining Service Manager at Lyman High School. His team there was like a second family to him, and he found deep fulfillment in mentoring, supporting, and working alongside them every day.
Chris was a man of boundless passions. When he wasn’t spending time with his best friend, Showmay, you’d often find him practicing Tae Kwon Do, cheering on his beloved New Orleans Saints, or getting caught up in the thrill of NASCAR. He loved the sun and the sea, listening to music, playing golf, jet skiing, boating, and exploring the open road on his motorcycle.
Chris was a man of great kindness, generosity, and unwavering respect for all. His friends and family were blessed by his big heart and easy laughter, and he left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
Chris also cherished his time with his faithful dogs, Oscar, Manny, and Jazzy. It brings comfort to know they are all together again, watching over us from above.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by his family, his many dear friends, and all those whose lives he touched with his gentle spirit and generous soul.
