Clementina A. Gecewicz

Clementina A. Gecewicz, lovingly known as Clem, passed away peacefully at home in Lake Mary, Florida, on September 21, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on April 18, 1959, in Brooklyn, New York.

Clem was a loving, selfless woman who devoted herself to her family and home. A homemaker, she gave her time and energy wholeheartedly to those she loved most. She was deeply involved in her children’s school activities and was especially proud to serve as a Band Parent, always ready to support, encourage, and participate in the moments that mattered to her family.

She also expressed her care for others through her many talents and interests. Clem was a chocolatier, bringing sweetness not only through her creations but through the warmth she shared with those around her. Christmas was one of her favorite holidays, and she embraced it with joy and enthusiasm, going all out with parties and cooking that created lasting memories for her family and friends. She will be remembered as a wonderful grandmother whose love was constant and generous.

Clem is survived by her daughter, Mary Johnson, and Mary’s husband, Randall; her son, Anthony Garnet, and Anthony’s wife, Ruby Dietz; her mother, Frances Vasile-Cozzo; her grandson, Alexio Johnson; her brother, Joseph Vasile-Cozzo; and her sister, Lilli Vasile-Cozzo. She also leaves behind their families, all of whom were touched by her love and presence.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gregory Gecewicz, and by her father, Salvatore Vasile-Cozzo.

Clem’s life was centered on love, family, and the joy of making a home bright and welcoming. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her.
