Listen to Obituary

Coleman Lee Phillips, Jr. was born on February 13, 1949, in Orangeburg, South Carolina, to Annabel Catherine Phillips and Coleman Lee Phillips, Sr. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Sandra.

Lee found his beloved partner, Donna Wolters, 21 years ago, and together they made their home in Satellite Beach, Florida. He is survived by Donna; his sister, Gail Adams (Ray); his daughters, Cherie Chmielewski (Mark), Jennifer Phillips, and Lesley Martir; and his grandchildren, Travis, Danielle, Hallie, Jasmine, Isabella, Lana, Leland, and Ollie, his loving pet. He is also survived by three great-grandsons, three great-granddaughters, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In October 1956, Lee’s family moved to the Pine Hills area of Orlando, where he grew up surrounded by lifelong friends who became like brothers to him. He attended Pine Hills Elementary and graduated from Evans High School in 1968, where he lettered in baseball all three years. He later attended Valencia Junior College in West Orlando.

Lee spent many years working in the plumbing industry as a salesman, including time with Coocen Plumbing in Orlando and more recently with Grace Smith, Barnett Plumbing. He was also employed by Bill Howell at Orlando Ventures, Inc.

Lee had a deep love for sports, especially baseball, softball, bowling, golf, and basketball; he excelled in all of them. He especially enjoyed watching the Gators play and attending dog races at the Orlando Kennel Club.

Lee played life the way he loved his sports—full of heart, dedication, and a true love for the game.
