Colleen Bly, a loving wife, mother, nana, sister, aunt, and friend departed this world for the next on August 21, 2025 at age 74 after a fiercely strong five-year fight against lung cancer.

Born in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania then moving to Miami at age one, Colleen grew up in a loving home with three brothers and two sisters in Miami in the 1950’s and 60’s. The ocean being a center of her young life, the love of family and the sea prompted a move to Fort Pierce Florida as a single mother where she joined her parents and siblings to flourish and celebrate life together. Time on the beach, boating, water skiing, playing tennis, and being an aerobics instructor with her sisters instilled a strong family bond that grew with the size of the family that also welcomed friends as family.

Colleen had a will and strength that shown through while raising her kids as a single mother at the age of 26. Dedicated to her family she was a rock for her sisters, brothers, their children, then her own five grandkids. She is a legend as Nana and could not have been happier than to be surrounded by her kids, their wives, and especially grandkids watching them grow and supporting them as only Nana can do, making sure they were happy in every aspect of their lives.

Having a long career moving up within the United States Post Office, Colleen found love through work in Longwood Florida and married her counterpart in strength Poppy Ron who shared the love of family and support in every way. Retiring at 55 years old she dedicated her time to her home, husband, traveling to visit and support family, and remaining fit and active. Making a warm and comfy home through design inside and out was a wonderful skill Nana and Poppy shared together and that is felt in their home today.

Colleen will be missed by her love in life Ronald Johnston, her sons Joey (Rachel) Hauer, Josh (Erin) Hauer, her grandchildren Keegan, Jonah, Quinlan, Kellan, and Coralin, her brothers, Patrick Bly (Nayiver Delgado), Leo (Generosa) Bly, her nieces and nephews, Shawn Bly, Brie Lamb, Patrick Bly, Amanda Bly and Shannon Bly, Ronalds’s son Kevin (Jackie) Johnston, daughter, Kristen (David) Shirley, sisters, brother and all of their spouses and children as well as all of the friends who Colleen made her family.

Colleen was preceded in death and has joined her parents Grace and Leo Bly, brother Billy Bly, sisters Kelly Bly and Kathy Bly and nephew Bobby Sayers.
