Connie Stanton Sabiston, Born September 6, 1936, in Carteret County, North Carolina, entered his eternal home Tuesday morning, September 8, 2026. Connie was raised in Core Creek and attended schools in Beaufort, NC. After marrying Nellie Burroughs in New Bern, North Carolina, Connie served four years in the Army before returning to North Carolina to start a family and begin a career in law enforcement with the New Bern, North Carolina Police Department. In 1960, the young Sabiston family moved to Florida where Connie was offered a job with the Winter Park Police Department as a patrol officer. In 1970 he left the police department and moved the family to Tallahassee to begin his employment with the Florida State Prison System as a prison inspector, the family transferred back to Winter Park, during this time he traveled around the state inspecting various prisons. He later moved to Orlando where he met and married his wife of forty-three years, Theresa Hatem, and eventually retired as an investigator for Mears Transportation at Orlando International Airport.
Connie is known for his love of cars, The Dallas Cowboys and John Wayne. He loved being behind the wheel of a car, driving it through the week for work and cleaning it on the weekends. He always chose to be the designated driver whenever family would gather for a road trip, this passion was passed down to his children and grandchildren.
Connie was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, a cherished brother-in-law, uncle, cousin and friend. Connie and Theresa attended Blessed Trinity Catholic Church for devotion and fellowship.
He is proceeded in death by his parents John “Jeff” Stanton Sabiston, Virginia Dare “Ginny” Fulcher Sabiston and son-in-law Richard Kaiser. He is survived by his wife, Theresa Hatem Sabiston, daughter Tina Kaiser, son Gregory (Christy) Sabiston, grandchildren Scott (Christian) Kaiser, Jennifer (Neil) Kaiser, Brody (Lisa) Sabiston, Matthew (Rachel) Humphrey, Sarah (Chase) Heinrich and great grandchildren Savannah, Lucas, Jacob, Dub(Jr) and Gavin.
