Cordelia Elmosa Martin passed away on May 5, 2026 in Orlando, Florida. She was born on February 16, 1940 in Westmoreland, Jamaica, WI to the late Leaton Hall and Loretta Ann Hall. She was married to Milton Milford Martin before his passing on May 8, 2018.
Cordelia attended Paul Island Elementary School. She later transferred to Grange Hill High School where she studied and passed the third Jamaica local examination. She taught at Townhead Elementary School in Hanover and later went to Kingston to study at Mico Teacher's College and gained her degree from the University of the West Indies. Cordelia met, and married Milton in Kingston.
Cordelia emigrated to the United States of America and furthered her education to obtain her bachelor's and master's degree as well as thirty credits above the master's degree in education. She was a career educator who was a director of a daycare center as well as a middle school teacher. She was also deeply devoted to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and worked tirelessly in church and outreach ministry as choir director and in nursing home visitation.
Those who knew her will remember her love for playing the piano and writing poetry and songs. She had a way of making people feel special. She was compassionate, hardworking and dedicated to her family. Her smile would melt any heart. She taught her family values and showed love through her actions and daily habits. She was an exceptional woman who reached for the sky and never allowed failure to prevent her from attaining her goals.
Cordelia is survived by her children Paulette, Sharon, Dale, Arlene and Richard; six grandchildren Lavarn, Phillip (PJ), Phylicia, Aaron, Dalin, and Kayla, five great grandchildren, two sisters, one brother and many more family members.
May her soul rest in eternal peace.
