Crawford James Bass Jr.

Crawford James Bass Jr. was born on April 3, 1947, in Bessemer, Alabama, and passed away peacefully on December 13, 2025, in Orlando, Florida. A dedicated and hardworking individual, Crawford spent many years proudly employed at Florida Power and Light, where his commitment and strong work ethic shone brightly.

As a veteran of the United States Army, Crawford exhibited the same discipline and dedication to service that would later define his professional and personal life. He was known not only for his reliability but also for his charming personality, which effortlessly brought both sternness and humor to those around him.

Crawford was a passionate storyteller, often sharing memories and experiences with family and friends, creating cherished moments that will be long remembered. His love for family was palpable; he took immense pride in being a father and a grandfather, always placing family at the heart of his accomplishments. His most treasured legacy remains the bonds he forged with his loved ones, reminding everyone that family is of utmost importance.

Crawford had an affinity for Alabama Football and delighted in spending time with his beloved black Labradors. He enjoyed watching the weather and engaged in card games that spoke to his competitive spirit. These interests were a reflection of his vibrant personality, making him a joyful presence in the lives of those who were fortunate enough to know him.

Crawford is survived by his loving children, Angela (Mike) Kiss, Keri Robinson, James (Alyssa) Bass, and Steven (Renee) Campos, and his cherished grandson, Carter Bass. He will also be missed by his partner in crime, Jennifer Bass, his cousins Kate Abel and Vicci LeFort, his Alabama family with whom he recently reconnected, and Lily, his beloved black lab . 

CJ Bass will be lovingly remembered for his generous spirit, the laughter he brought to the dinner table, and the way he would come home late from work, eliciting a familiar “Hello, late for dinner” from his family. He leaves behind an enduring legacy built on love, strength, and storytelling—a testament to a life well-lived.
