Dan W. Allen, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on December 8, 2025, in Lake Mary, Florida. He was born on August 15, 1951, in Apple Grove, West Virginia, and was a loving figure whose life was marked by dedication, laughter, and generosity.

Dan’s career spanned over three decades at Disney, where he served as a concierge at The Grand Floridian Resort. His knack for making every guest feel special was matched only by his genuine love for his work and his unwavering willingness to help others. Prior to his time at Disney, Dan displayed his commitment to service in various capacities, including his roles in the funeral industry and with the FBI. His military service as a sergeant in the U.S. Air Force for two and a half years exemplified his patriotism and dedication to his country.

Known for his loving and considerate nature, Dan had an infectious smile that brought joy to those around him. He was renowned not only for being an amazing husband and father but also as a doting grandfather. Dan took great pride in his family and considered them to be his proudest accomplishments. He loved giving gifts to others, finding true happiness in brightening people’s days.

A cat lover at heart, Dan had a variety of hobbies that included working around the house and solving complex 3D puzzles. He was always on the lookout for a good deal, which often led him on interesting adventures and discoveries.

Dan is survived by his beloved wife, Helen Allen; his daughters, Jennifer Allen and Heather Allen (David RJ Massingham); his cherished grandsons, James D. Massingham and Oliver L. Massingham; as well as his brother, Jeremy Mayan; and many other relatives in West Virginia.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Pauline Kinniard and Lidle Allen and his aunt, Virginia Slayton.

Dan W. Allen leaves behind lasting memories of love, laughter, and kindness. His legacy as a devoted family man and dedicated professional will forever be remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
