Danny A. McCabe, born on December 21, 1943, in Dayton, Ohio, passed away on January 3, 2026, at Discovery Village of Melbourne in Melbourne, Florida. He was a dedicated man who devoted over 50 years to his career as a machinist for General Motors before retiring. Danny graduated from Patterson Co-op, class of 1963, and was known for his unwavering commitment to both his professional and personal life.
A proud supporter of his Irish heritage, Danny carried a vibrant spirit that was reflected in his personality. He was always the jokester, famous for his inappropriate sense of humor, often bringing laughter to those around him. Riding his Harley was his favorite passion, allowing him to soak in the beauty of the open road.
Danny was not only a skilled machinist but also a devoted father who embraced teaching opportunities in every moment. He imparted invaluable life lessons to his children, emphasizing self-sufficiency and the importance of perfect attendance—an accomplishment he was especially proud of throughout his life.
He is survived by his beloved daughter, Erin Watkins, and her husband, Don; his son, Danny J. McCabe; his grandchildren, Zachary Watkins, Alexi Watkins, and Rayn McCabe; and his great-grandchildren, Peyton Watkins, Riley Watkins, and Blake Watkins.
