David Michael Brunner, dearest brother, son, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend, left this world on August 11, 2025. Free-spirited, fun-loving, kind, naturally comedic, and fiercely loyal were the hallmarks of David’s personality. David was the 8th of 9 children, born in South Bend, IN on June 3, 1962, to his parents Agnes and Richard Brunner.

He resided in Mishawaka, IN, through his mid- 20’s before moving to Florida, where he eventually met and wed Madeline Dilworth. They married in 2005 and made Longwood, Florida their home. He worked in Inside Sales for Harry Warren, Inc. for over 24 years. A devout Green Bay Packer and Notre Dame fan, and a zealous American Patriot supporter of President Trump and MAGA, David loudly and proudly exhibited his fidelity by wearing shirts and swag representing his loyalty while greeting naysayers with a big smile and a genuine acceptance of others.

David lived life in the moment! He appreciated and loved all animals, and he provided water and food to them whenever he had the opportunity, be it in his yard, at the cabin, or on the sidewalk! He would stop his car and pull off the road to jump out and lift a crossing turtle to safety. He had an exceptional fondness for cats! He very much looked forward to visiting his Dad and his family in Mishawaka, Indiana, each year for his Father’s birthday and whenever he had the opportunity, and he absolutely cherished his fishing trips to the family cabin in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan!

When he wasn’t with his family, you could always count on him calling or face-timing (when he was able to navigate that function on his new “smart-ass” phone!) at any given time of the day or night!! He is fondly remembered for calling his sister Jody just to listen to her cat give him a meow-”shout out!” David enjoyed fishing, playing euchre with his family, dancing his goofy dances to any type of music, and simply making others laugh. He was incessantly playing practical jokes on his friends and family: we will forever miss his jokes and his phone calls impersonating others!

David was preceded in death by his Mother, Agnes L. Brunner; brothers: Richard Brunner, Jr., and Joseph Brunner; maternal and paternal grandparents; and his dearly beloved cats: Little Buddy Jr., Pippin, and Miss Purdy. He is survived by his wife Madeline; Father, Richard Brunner; brothers: Charles and Larry Brunner; sisters: Sandy (Bob) Harrington, Becky Cooper, Laurie Brunner, and his favorite sister Mary/Jody Brunner, whom he lovingly referred to as “Joder”; his caring nephew and advocate, Jacob Brunner; his much-adored niece, USAF Senior Master Sergeant Casey Brunner-Quinones, and many other nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and relatives. Dave leaves behind many friends and colleagues, most notably his best buddies: Scott “Tex” Austin and his “protector,” Eddie Motta.

“Peace be with you and with your spirit, Amen,” sweet David, my brother, until we meet again.
