David R. Moore

David R Moore, age 69, passed away peacefully April 25, 2025.

David was born August 27, 1955, in Burbank, CA.  His family moved to FL in 1957.

David went to Conway Junior High where he played basketball and swam.  During those years he went to the Jr Olympics as a swimmer.  He attended Boone High School graduating in 1974.  

He was an avid surfer and enjoyed fishing.  He was a black belt in Goju USA Karate - achieving his 1st degree black belt in Shodan in 2004 and 2nd degree in Nidan in 2014.

He was employed by his uncle, Sid Moore, at Moore Paint Company in Orlando until he moved to California.  When he returned he worked again for his uncle for a few years.  He was part of the painting of EPCOT, when he worked for a subcontracting company.  He eventually started his own company, DRM Painting Company with his partner, John Dove. 

When in California, he met his future wife working as paint contractor in an expansion of her company offices.  

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Laura, nee, Thomas, his daughter Michelle, son in law Nick, grandchildren Collin, 15 and Mikayla, 10.  His son, Michael, daughter in law, Ljiljana. His brother Richard, sister in law, Karen and nephew, Jarrod.  His nephew, Scott, his wife Liz and great nieces, Emily and Hillary as well as his nephew, Todd. 

His parents, Roland and Doris as well as his sister, Elizabeth, predecease David.
