Dell Franklin

Dell Anthony Franklin went home to be with his SAVIOR on February 13, 2026. After years of bravely battling COPD, he passed peacefully at his home wrapped in the loving arms of his family and his Lord.

Dell loved many things, one being the Love of his Life, Andrea (Angie) McElroy Franklin. Married for 45 years since Friday the 13th of June, 1980, they often had a date night on the Friday the 13th's throughout the years. He had one last date on the day he left Friday February 13th 2026. He passionately loved his two sons Derek Anthony 43, and Andrew Kyle (Drew) 36. They were his Blessing from God and his source of Joy.
He took such comfort that they are both strong in their Faith and know they are truly children of God. All were blessed to be the focus of his years of hard work and dedication to his family.

Born on December 3rd 1958 in the windy city of Chicago, he and seven siblings also lived in Tennessee before settling in St Louis Missouri in 1969.
His father Carl D Franklin worked for American Airlines until his retirement and his mother Marcella Franklin was a beloved homemaker for their large loving family. Dell graduated from Bishop Du Bourg High School in 1977. He studied computer aided drafting in the '80s and was a Logistics Manager for several companies throughout the years. He and his wife Angie, followed their dream and moved their family to live in the beautiful state of Florida in 1990.

His greatest work-related honor was to work for Scott Alexander the owner of Marshall Medical here in Orlando. Scott was such an inspiration to Dell as he had always hoped to work for a Christian-based company, and Scott was the epitome of a Warrior for Christ. In his eight year battle with cancer, he inspired Dell and many others to honor our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in any and all things.

Dell is survived by brothers Don, Bill, Mark and Ken Franklin and sister Karen Dzurian. He is preceded by his parents, and sisters Christine Louks and Leslie McFarland.

Dell was an avid amateur golfer and spent many mornings on the beautiful Florida courses. He loved woodworking and made many wonderful pieces of furniture still used and cherished today. 

Limited by his illness in his last years, he fought the good fight, and always hoped to "Just be the Door man" when he got to Heaven. Surely he's wearing his Crown promised by our Savior who goes to prepare a place for us.
Rest in Peace Dell as so many here mourn your passing till we are all reunited in Glory.
