Dennis Broom, a loving husband, dedicated father, and generous friend, passed away on September 18, 2025, in Orlando, Florida, at the age of 78. Born on December 23, 1946, in Ohio, Dennis led a remarkable life marked by devotion to family, a successful engineering career, and a commitment to serving his country.
Dennis's professional journey included significant stints with McDonnell Douglas and Lockheed Martin, where his engineering expertise contributed to vital advancements in aerospace technology. A proud veteran, he served in the United States Air Force for 20 years, embodying the values of patriotism and leadership.
Throughout his life, Dennis was known for his giving and loving nature, always ready to help those in need. His humor and generous spirit left a warm impression on everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. He took great pride in his family, often reflecting on his proudest accomplishments—his daughter, Sara (Thomas) Farrell, and his grandchildren: Micah Estrada, Chase Estrada, Casey Estrada, Emma Estrada, and Paige Estrada, as well as his great granddaughters, Kairi Estrada and Violet Estrada.
Dennis shared a beautiful life with his wife, Okcha Broom. Together, they explored the world, creating lasting memories through travel and cruises. Dennis had a zest for life, indulging in hobbies such as playing video games and catching Pokémon with his grandchildren, scuba diving, and flying radio-controlled planes. His unique collection of hats and pins from his travels serves as a testament to his adventurous spirit.
Dennis was preceded in death by his mother, Constance Broom; his father, John Broom; his sister, Judith Broom; and his sister, Barbara Moon. He is fondly remembered by his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, all of whom carry forward his legacy of love and kindness.
Visitation services for Dennis will be held on October 2, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, South Seminole, located at 335 E State Rd 434, Longwood, Florida.
He will be deeply missed but his spirit and the joyous moments he gifted to others will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved him.
