Digna Rodriguez Marrero, born on April 4, 1937, in Toa Alto, Puerto Rico, passed away peacefully on December 12, 2025, at AdventHealth East Orlando Hospital in Orlando, Florida. She lived a life filled with love and laughter, deeply cherished by her family and friends who remember her as a loving and caring individual.
Digna's greatest pride was her family. She was a devoted mother to her twelve children, ten who are surviving her: Grisette I. Acevedo, Wilfredo Rodriguez and his wife, Wendy Soto Rodriguez, Alberto Rodriguez, Madeline Rodriguez, Marlin I. Rodriguez, Efrain Rodriguez, Eddie Rodriguez, Yolanda Arango and her husband, Martin, Cirio Rodriguez, and Eduardo Rodriguez. Digna also held the proud title of grandmother to 36 grandchildren and was blessed with many great-grandchildren. Digna also leaves behind her sister, Benedictra Marrero. Her commitment to being a nurturing mother, grandmother, and aunt extended to her large and extended family, and she was known for her role as a welcoming hostess at family gatherings, bringing joy and warmth to every occasion.
Digna had a vibrant personality, evident in her love for music, dancing, and parties. She enjoyed entertaining and created lasting memories as she gathered her loved ones around her. Among her fondest memories were the joyful moments spent with her grandchildren, where she could be found using their phones to capture fun pictures with playful filters. Her favorite saying to those she loved was, "Te Amo!", a testament to the deep affection she held for her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Segundo Marrero and Petronila Camacho, her husband, Cirilo Rodriguez Garcia, and two beloved children, Miriam Rodriguez and Nelson Rodriguez.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, December 22, 2025 at 6:30 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home - East Orlando Chapel, 895 S. Goldenrod Rd, Orlando with Deacon Manny Garcia officiating.
Vistitation will be held on Monday, December 22 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
Graveside committal services will be on Tuesday, December 23 at 12:30 pm at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL - all are asked to meet directly at the cemetery.
Digna will be remembered not only for her vibrant spirit and love for her family but also for the lasting legacy she leaves in the hearts of many. She enriched the lives of those around her with her warmth and generosity, ensuring that her legacy will continue through the love she shared.
