Dionicio Núñez Martinez Lovingly known as Ricardo 12/12/1938 – 2/24/2026 Oviedo, Florida

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Dionicio Núñez Martinez, lovingly known as Ricardo. He passed away peacefully on February 24, 2026, at the age of 87, surrounded by his family.

Born on December 12, 1938, in Nagua, Dominican Republic, to Bernardino Núñez and Gumercinda Martinez, Ricardo was a proud Dominican who carried his culture and language with him throughout his life. He migrated to Lynn, Massachusetts, in 1973, where he built his life and raised his family before moving to Oviedo, Florida, in 2008.

His proudest accomplishment was his family. He was a hardworking and resourceful man who could fix almost anything, serving as a tailor, barber, mechanic, and cook for those he loved. A God-fearing man, he enjoyed reading his Bible, listening to Christian music, watching baseball, playing rounds of dominoes, and cooking for his family.

Ricardo was loving, loyal, generous, and full of personality. He was funny, smooth, stubborn, affectionate, and proud. A prankster at heart, he was known for giving nicknames and for his unforgettable sayings like “Come yuca,” “Yo soy feo,” and his famous jingle “Ayolaley.” Above all, he loved his family unconditionally.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Carmen; his children, Tony, Jasmine, Esmeralda, and Griselda; his sons-in-law, Brian, Hakim, and Cesar; his grandchildren, Yamillex, Elijah, Madeline, Cristian, Gaby, Desi, Darlenis, and Cynthia; his granddaughters-in-law, Hannah and Neffy; his great-grandchildren, Ezra and Elias; three unborn great-grandchildren, Baby Isabella, Baby Elena, and one beloved baby on the way; his five brothers and two sisters; his faithful guardian, Polo; and many others who loved him deeply.

Rest in Peace, Ricucho, Papi, Papa, Mr. Come Yuca.

We love you forever.
