Listen to Obituary

Donald Lee Sellers, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 16, 2025, in New Smyrna Beach, Florida. His passing came shortly after attending his grandson’s wedding and reception—a truly bittersweet moment, as he spent the day surrounded by his beloved family, filled with joy and pride.

Don dedicated his professional life as an electrician, bringing light and energy to countless homes and communities. He also proudly and honorably served in the United States Army, a reflection of his unwavering commitment to his country and community.

Beyond his career, Don was a man of remarkable artistic and creative talents. He painted and drew with passion, and he loved working with his hands—designing and upgrading the family home in Orlando, crafting custom fishing rods, building birdhouses, and even creating jewelry. His love of fishing brought him joy and peace, and his eye for design left a lasting mark in everything he touched.

A loyal fan of college football, Don never missed a Florida State Seminoles game. Cheering for his team was one of his greatest joys, a tradition that his family will always remember with a smile.

What defined Don most was his big heart and his deep love for his family. He always expressed gratitude for even the smallest acts of kindness, often saying, “You’re the best.” His kindness, humility, and warmth left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

Don is survived by his loving wife, Linda Marie Sellers, his children Carla Ann Day, Don Troy Sellers, and Dana Michelle Meek, grandchildren James Michael Buck, Layla Mae Rachuba, Nathaniel Paul Buck, Lindsey M. Buck, Troy Alan Sellers, twelve additional grandchildren, and one cherished great-grandchild. His legacy of love, creativity, and devotion to family lives on through them.

A funeral service and interment will be held on Monday, August 25th, at 9:30 a.m. at Cape Canaveral Cemetery in Mims, Florida.

To honor Don’s life, the family kindly requests in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the Samaritans Purse at the link below.
