Dorothy A. Sweet

Dorothy Sweet (Palmer), 93, of Altamonte Springs, passed away on January, 24, 2026. Dorothy was born in Rome, New York, to Forrest and Dora (Pritchard) Palmer, on May 22, 1932. She attended Rome schools, graduating from Rome Free Academy, in 1950. 

Dorothy married Beryle Sweet in Rome on April 26, 1952. They celebrated 56 years of marriage before Beryle passed away, in April 2008. Dorothy and Beryle moved to Pittsburgh, PA in 1976 and then to Florida in 1998. Dorothy is a member of St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church in Altamonte Springs, FL. 

Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, son David Sweet, and her sisters Eileen Palmer and Eleanor Hall.

She is survived by her son Michael (Carol) Sweet, Altamonte Springs FL; and her daughters Nancy Sweet, Pittsburgh, PA; and Kathleen Sweet, Omaha, NE. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Christopher (Jennifer) Sweet, in Clermont, FL; Amie (Ryan) Fleming in Altamonte Springs, FL; Joshua (Katie) Sweet in Orlando, FL; Jeremy (Megan) Cash and Kyle Johnson, Omaha, NE. Dorothy is also survived by 7 great grandsons: Anthony, Dominick, and Nicholas Sweet, Nathan, Bennett, Cameron and Wesley Fleming, and 2 great granddaughters: Cecelia and Delilah Cash, Omaha, NE. Also surviving her are her sisters Marion Sweet in Rome NY; and Barbara Solverson, Manchaca, TX. Dorothy was also blessed with many nieces and nephews.

Funeral arrangements and cremation are entrusted to Newcomer Funeral Home, South Seminole Chapel at 335 E State Rd. 434, Longwood , FL. 

Celebration of Life will be held at a later date at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church in Altamonte Springs, FL. with burial to follow at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery in Mims, FL alongside her loving husband, Beryle.
