In Loving Memory
Rodney Earl McMullen
November 6, 1944 – January 14, 2026
Rodney Earl McMullen was a proud country boy from Georgia, shaped by red dirt roads, hard work, and simple values that never left him. A devoted father of three, he was the proud grandfather of ten grandchildren and the joyful great-grandfather of five great-grandchildren. His family was his greatest accomplishment, and his love for them ran deep and unwavering. Earl had a heart of gold and would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. Friends and family alike knew they could count on him—whether for a helping hand, honest advice, or just steady company. He valued loyalty, laughter, and time spent with the people he loved most. Stubborn as the day is long, Earl stood firm in his ways and beliefs, and those who knew him well knew that once his mind was made up, it was made up for good. Yet beneath that stubborn streak was a kind, generous soul who loved fiercely and lived authentically. He leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and family traditions that will continue through generations. He will be deeply missed, fondly remembered, and forever loved by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
If you would like to donate in his memory, please consider donating to the city of Deland for their youth sports program. Earl was a big proponent of all Youth having the opportunity to play sports and this would give some children who may not otherwise have that ability.
Checks can be sent to: City of DeLand Parks and Recreation Department at 230 North Stone Street, DeLand, FL 32720 in memory of Earl Mcmullen
