Edith Sanchez Rivera

Edith Sanchez Rivera, born September 8, 1942, in Arecibo, Puerto Rico, passed away on April 3, 2026, in Altamonte Springs, Florida.

She was raised in Puerto Rico and later lived in New York City, where she pursued her education and built the foundation of her life alongside her husband, Gregorio Perez Rivera. Together they returned to the island, where they built a business and a home rooted in hard work, generosity, and community.

In her later years, Edith made her home in Lake Mary, Florida, close to her son and his family a chapter she cherished deeply. Her faith was the steady current beneath everything she did, and she faced life's greatest challenges with courage and quiet conviction.

She was the beloved wife of the late Gregorio Perez Rivera. Edith is survived by her son, Miguel Muniz, daughter in law Karla Muniz, and granddaughter, Valentina Muniz.

A viewing will be held on April 9, 2026, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, South Seminole, located at 335 E State Rd 434, Longwood, Florida. The funeral service will follow from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the same location. Burial will take place later that day at Oaklawn Memorial Park Cemetery, 4991 CR-46A E, Lake Mary, Florida; beginning at 4:00 p.m.
