Eduardo Baez, 84, of Rockford, Illinois, passed away peacefully on July 4, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Eduardo was born on October 9, 1941, in Juana Díaz, Puerto Rico, to Crispulo Baez and Dolores Reyes de Baez. As one of nine children and the oldest brother, he was deeply loved, admired, and respected by his family. From an early age, he displayed the strength, kindness, and devotion that would define his life.

In the early 1960s, Eduardo moved from Puerto Rico to the United States in search of new opportunities. It was then that he met the love of his life, Luz Maria. Together, they built a beautiful life centered on faith, love, family, and friendship.

Throughout his working years, Eduardo held several jobs before finding his long-term career with Vapor Corporation, where he worked faithfully for nearly 30 years. He retired in 2004, leaving behind a legacy of dedication, hard work, and integrity.

Eduardo was known for his loving heart, unwavering loyalty, kindness, compassion, and faithfulness. He treasured time spent with family and friends and never missed an opportunity to bring people together. Whether he was singing, dancing, sharing stories, or hosting gatherings, Eduardo had a special gift for making everyone feel welcome and loved.

Of all his accomplishments, Eduardo was most proud of his family. He took great joy in raising his daughters and later embraced the roles of grandfather and great-grandfather with immense love and pride. His family was the center of his world, and he cherished every moment spent with them.

A cornerstone of Eduardo's life was his faith in Jehovah God. On July 23, 1971, he symbolized his dedication to Jehovah through baptism as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. He remained steadfast in his faith for the rest of his life, drawing strength, comfort, and purpose from his relationship with Jehovah and maintaining a firm hope in the Bible's promise of a future resurrection.

Above all else, Eduardo's greatest blessing was the love he shared with his beloved wife, Luz Maria. Married in Chicago, Illinois, they shared 58 wonderful years together, building a life filled with devotion, partnership, and unconditional love. Their marriage was a beautiful example of commitment and faithfulness.

Eduardo is survived by his loving wife, Luz Maria Baez; his daughters, Luz Gertrudis Carrero (Hiram), Rosita Salgado (Evencio), and Wanda Ivelis Figueroa (Juan Carlos Sr.); his grandchildren, Jessenia (Michael), Juan Carlos Jr. (Cristal), Joshua (Tania), Cristina (Michael), Hiram (Andrea), Rubi (Max), and Alexis (Italiana); his 13 great-grandchildren; and three siblings.

The impact Eduardo had on the lives of others cannot be overstated. Through his kindness, generosity, faith, and genuine love for people, he touched countless hearts over his 84 years. His memory will continue to live on in the lives of those who knew him, loved him, and were blessed to call him family and friends.

Though he will be deeply missed, his family finds comfort in the many cherished memories they share and in the hope of seeing him again in the future.

Eduardo Baez, de 84 años, falleció pacíficamente el 4 de julio de 2026 en Rockford, Illinois, rodeado de su amada familia.

Eduardo nació el 9 de octubre de 1941 en Juana Díaz, Puerto Rico, hijo de Críspulo Baez y Dolores Reyes de Baez. Como uno de nueve hermanos y el hermano mayor, fue profundamente amado, admirado y respetado por su familia. Desde temprana edad demostró la fortaleza, bondad y dedicación que definirían su vida.

A principios de la década de 1960, Eduardo se mudó de Puerto Rico a los Estados Unidos en busca de nuevas oportunidades. Fue donde conoció al amor de su vida, Luz María. Juntos construyeron una hermosa vida basada en la fe, el amor, la familia y la amistad.

Durante sus años de trabajo, Eduardo desempeñó varios empleos antes de encontrar su carrera a largo plazo en Vapor Corporación, donde trabajó fielmente durante casi 30 años. Se jubiló en el año 2004, dejando un legado de dedicación, esfuerzo e integridad.

Eduardo era conocido por su gran corazón, su lealtad inquebrantable, su bondad, compasión y fidelidad. Atesoraba el tiempo que pasaba con familiares y amigos y nunca perdía la oportunidad de reunir a las personas que amaba. Ya fuera cantando, bailando, compartiendo historias o siendo el anfitrión de reuniones familiares, Eduardo tenía un don especial para hacer que todos se sintieran bienvenidos y queridos.

De todos sus logros, Eduardo se sentía especialmente orgulloso de su familia. Encontró una inmensa alegría en criar a sus hijas y más tarde en desempeñar el papel de abuelo y bisabuelo con amor y orgullo. Su familia era el centro de su vida, y valoraba profundamente cada momento compartido con ellos.

Uno de los pilares fundamentales de la vida de Eduardo fue su fe en Jehová Dios. El 23 de julio de 1971 simbolizó su dedicación a Jehová mediante el bautismo como uno de los Testigos de Jehová. Permaneció firme en su fe durante toda su vida, encontrando fortaleza, consuelo y propósito en su relación con Jehová, y manteniendo una esperanza segura en la promesa bíblica de la resurrección futura.

Por encima de todo, la mayor bendición de Eduardo fue el amor que compartió con su querida esposa, Luz María. Casados en Chicago, Illinois, compartieron 58 maravillosos años juntos, construyendo una vida llena de devoción, compañerismo y amor incondicional. Su matrimonio fue un hermoso ejemplo de compromiso y fidelidad.

Eduardo deja para honrar su memoria a su amada esposa, Luz María Baez; sus hijas, Luz Gertrudis Carrero (Hiram), Rosita Salgado (Evencio) y Wanda Ivelis Figueroa (Juan Carlos Sr.); sus nietos, Jessenia (Michael), Juan Carlos Jr. (Cristal), Joshua (Tania), Cristina (Michael), Hiram (Andrea), Rubi (Max) y Alexis (Italiana); sus 13 bisnietos; y tres hermanos.

Es imposible expresar plenamente cuántas vidas tocó Eduardo durante sus 84 años. A través de su bondad, generosidad, fe y amor genuino por los demás, dejó una huella imborrable en innumerables corazones. Su recuerdo continuará viviendo en las vidas de quienes lo conocieron, lo amaron y tuvieron la bendición de llamarlo familia y amigo.

Aunque será profundamente extrañado, su familia encuentra consuelo en los hermosos recuerdos compartidos y en la esperanza de volver a verlo en el futuro.
