Eladio Alicea-Cruz, a man remembered as a joy to be with and cherished by those who knew him, passed away on May 19, 2026, in Orlando, Florida. Born on March 22, 1949, in Bayamon, Puerto Rico, he lived a life marked by dedication, love, and service.

Educated in Puerto Rico, Eladio was a very unique individual whose personality shone through his many roles: a doting husband, a laid-back and funny jokester, a hardworking and dedicated family man, and a trustworthy caretaker. Known for his straightforward and sometimes blunt manner, he was always reliable and willing to help others, passing on his knowledge generously and without reservation.

Eladio's pride and dedication extended beyond his family to his military service. A decorated veteran honored with several awards, he was devoted to his country and took great pride in his accomplishments. This service was among his proudest achievements, alongside his family and the pride he held in himself and those around him.

Outside of his professional and familial commitments, Eladio was a man of many interests. He had a passion for watching sports, listening to music, and dancing. In his prime, he traveled, enjoyed exploring new places, and nurtured a special interest in history, which reflected his thoughtful nature and curiosity about the world.

Eladio leaves behind his beloved wife, Laura Alicea; his son, Jeffrey Alicea, and daughter-in-law, Talia; his daughter, Lynn Jean Alicea; and his son, Richard Alicea. They, along with his friends and all who knew him, carry forward the legacy of a man who was not only a great provider but also a loving family member and friend. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eladio and Andrea Alicea.

Eladio Alicea-Cruz’s memory is one of warmth, humor, and unwavering dedication—a shining example of a life earnestly lived. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege to know him.
