Emmanuel "Manny" Olivares, age 79, passed away peacefully on December 3, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. A joyful spirit and a devoted family man, Emmanuel lived his life with a generosity of heart that touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
Born with an insatiable curiosity, Emmanuel found deep joy in learning. He could often be found immersed in a book on history or philosophy, eager to share his knowledge and reflect on life’s big questions. He was a music-lover, NBA afficionado, and master of chess. He enjoyed traveling the world and took great joy in exploring scenic and historical parts of Europe.
Above all, Emmanuel’s greatest pride was his family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Mercedes Olivares, with whom he shared a lifetime of love and laughter. He leaves behind his children—Brian Olivares; Clarissa and Michael Herrera; Jeanine and Michael Navarro; and Carlo Olivares—who carry forward his warmth, wisdom, and unwavering dedication to family. Emmanuel also delighted in being a grandfather, and his legacy lives on through Layla Herrera, Bryce Herrera, Jackson Navarro, Michael Navarro, Jr., and Luke Navarro.
Emmanuel will be remembered for his kindness, his inquisitive mind, and the joyful presence he brought into every room. His life was rich in love, learning, and devotion, and his memory will be cherished always.
