Ernest passed into the presence of the Lord, December 22nd after battling health issues related to Parkinson's.
Ernest was born in Nashville, Tennessee, graduated with a BA and Masters in Education from Memphis State University. Ernest taught Journalism, World Geography in a high school in Goose Creek, South Carolina and served 23 years as a Guidance Counselor in Seminole County Schools. He accepted Jesus as his Savior as a child and was a member of Neighborhood Alliance Church since September, 1988.
He is survived by his wife, Ann Startup of 43 years, his son Jesse, daughter-in-law Heather, grandchildren, Oliver and Morgan, his sister Linda Russell and brother-in-law Bobby Russell.
"Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in an steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in an steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." Matthew 6: 19-21
The Memorial Service will be held Saturday, January 11 at 11:00 at Neighborhood Alliance Church, 301 Markham Woods Road, Longwood. A reception will follow.
While flowers are appreciated, donations may be made to either Teen Challenge or The Neighborhood Preschool, Neighborhood Alliance Church.
