Evelyn Arriaga
January 14, 1965 – January 19, 2026
Evelyn Arriaga was born on January 14, 1965, the eldest of four siblings, a role she carried with quiet strength and natural tenderness all her life. From the very beginning, Evelyn was a nurturer, someone whose heart instinctively made room for others.
She was the beloved wife of Jayzen Solís, the devoted and loving mother of her two precious daughters, Kayleen and Alexandra, and the proud, adoring grandmother of her treasured grandson, Josiah, who brought an extra sparkle to her eyes and joy to her soul. She is reunited now with her mother and father, who preceded her in death, and whose love surely welcomed her home. She leaves behind her loving siblings Sylvia Figueroa, Olga Arriaga, and Nicky Arriaga, bound forever by memories, laughter, and an unbreakable bond.
For 24 years, Evelyn lived out her calling as a teacher’s assistant in a federal government daycare in New Jersey. This was never “just a job” to her; it was a vocation of love. Day after day, she poured her heart into caring for children and family, offering comfort, patience, and protection to little souls and those who needed it most. Her tenderness was so genuine, so motherly, that she earned the affectionate name “Madrinita” or "Ninita" by many family members and friends. To many, she was more than a caregiver—she was safety, warmth, and love.
Life asked much of Evelyn, and she answered with love and courage. As a divorced mother, she raised her daughters with sacrifice, resilience, and an unwavering devotion that never wavered. Everything she did was for their happiness, their future, and their peace. Her love was unconditional, fierce, and endlessly giving.
Evelyn found joy in the simple, beautiful rhythms of life, like, cooking for those she loved, keeping her home just right, and caring for everyone before herself. She cherished her mandatory morning coffee from Dunkin’s, a ritual that became a moment of connection and comfort. Every morning, she would call her sister Sylvia, asking her to pick her up so they could get coffee together, share time, laughter, and sisterly love while her husband worked. These quiet moments were sacred to her.
She also delighted in little joys, like, shopping trips, especially for purses and shoes, lovingly adding to her collection with pride and excitement. These were reflections of her spirit: vibrant, expressive, and full of life.
Above all else, Evelyn gave love freely. She gave it to her family, her friends, her children, and every child she ever held, taught, or comforted. That love did not end with her passing. It lives on in the lives she touched, the hearts she shaped, and the family she built with so much care.
Evelyn’s legacy is one of love, sacrifice, tenderness, and light. Though our hearts ache in her absence, we find comfort in knowing that pain no longer lies within her.
Dear Evelyn, Fly High little Angel, and please watch over us. Your legacy will live forever.
