Evelyn Marie Woxberg, lovingly known as Winkie, passed away on September 13, 2026, in Longwood, Florida. She was born on November 26, 1943, in Evanston, Illinois, and lived a life marked by warmth, energy, and a spirit of adventure that touched many people.

Evelyn’s early years were rooted in Illinois. She attended Grove School in Northbrook, later graduating from Glenbrook High School in Northbrook, and continued her education at business school in Evanston. Those experiences helped shape a capable and hardworking woman who would go on to build a long and varied professional life.

Throughout the years, Evelyn brought dedication and care to every role she held. She worked for Koenig Strey real estate company for more than five years. She also spent five years with Stromberg Carlson telecommunications, and when the company purchased Astronet, she continued there for another four years. She later worked as a receptionist for Dr. Moskowitz for three years. Her longest professional chapter was with Womens Center for Radiology, where she retired after 35 years of service. Alongside her husband, Ron, she also became a business owner, creating Discover Florida Excursions/St. Johns River Cruises, an accomplishment that reflected both her entrepreneurial spirit and her love of sharing memorable experiences with others.

Evelyn embraced life with enthusiasm. She was fun, kind, and willing to try new things, always ready for an adventure and surrounded by many friends. She enjoyed scuba diving, canoeing, kayaking, camping, fishing, boat cruising, and riding the motorcycle. She was also a licensed HAM radio operator and enjoyed parasailing. Even in quieter moments, she found pleasure in playing solitaire to recharge. Among her treasured memories were the business trips she shared with Ron, traveling through Europe, Spain, Italy, Barbados, and Grenada. Of all her accomplishments, she was especially proud of raising and guiding her family and of the business she created with her husband.

Above all, Evelyn will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt. She is survived by her husband, Ron Woxberg; her daughter, Maria (Donnie) Watts; and her son, Terry (Nikki) Woxberg. She also leaves behind her grandsons, Patrick (Kathleen) Woulfe, Andrew (Taryn) Woulfe, Donnie (Alana) Watts Jr., and Terry Woxberg Jr.; her great-grandchildren, Jordan Owens, Leanne Owens, Fallyn Woulfe, Colson Watts, and Caesar Norwood Woxberg; her sister, Gale (Dirk) Mavrakos; and her nieces, Allison (Chris) Rojewski and Jessica (Matthew) Kern. Each of them carries forward the love, guidance, and adventurous spirit she gave so freely.

She was preceded in death by her father, Arthur Edgren; her mother, Margaret Edgren; her father-in-law, Everett Woxberg; her mother-in-law, Lucille Woxberg; her sister-in-law, Lynnea Woxberg; and her grandson, Trace Woxberg.
