Floyd Thomas “Tommy” Sparks, 84, of Kissimmee, Florida, passed away on September 23, 2026.
Tommy was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Patricia Griffith “Patty” Sparks, and his daughter, Elizabeth Jean "Libby" Johnston.
He is survived by his son, Floyd Thomas “Tom” Sparks Jr.; his grandson, Andracian “Andy” Phillips, (Kamila); and his granddaughter, Summer Phillips; as well as family and friends who were blessed to know and love him.
Tommy was a proud behind the scenes Disney Cast Member for 34 years before retiring. His years with Disney were an important part of his life and a testament to the dedication and work ethic he carried throughout his years.
Outside of work, Tommy was happiest enjoying the simple things in life. He loved to fish and hunt, but most of all, he loved spending time with his family and friends. He was a Christian man who loved the Lord and truly believed in loving thy neighbor. His faith was reflected not only in what he believed, but in the way he treated the people around him.
One of the greatest lessons Tommy leaves behind is a simple one: always find someone and teach them to fish. It was about more than fishing. It was about taking the time to share what you know, helping another person, and leaving something good behind for the next generation.
Tommy will be deeply missed, but his family finds comfort knowing that he has gone to the place He has prepared for us. And he has been reunited with those he loved who went before him, including his beloved Patty and Libby.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 4, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with funeral services taking place from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, October 5, 2026.
In honoring Tommy’s memory, may we carry forward the way he lived: love the Lord, love your neighbor, spend time with the people you love—and always find someone to teach to fish.
