Frank Langevin

January 19, 1944 — November 23, 2024

Orlando

Frank Langevin, born on January 19, 1944, in Binghamton, NY, passed away peacefully on November 23, 2024, in Orlando, FL, leaving behind a legacy filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. He was the beloved husband of Barbara Jean Langevin for 60 wonderful years, and a proud father to his daughter Teresa and son-in-law Dennis Lee Bersche, and his late daughter, Gina Langevin. His heart swelled with joy for his grandson Nicholas, who brought a sparkle to his eyes.

Frank's journey began at Binghamton North High School, from which he graduated in 1962. His career started at Universal Instruments in Binghamton where he worked for many years as a parts manager.  Later, after coming to Florida, he held positions in Broward County and ultimately retiring from Orange County Waste Water.  Colleagues and friends alike knew him for his outstanding reliability and the warmth he brought into the workplace. His humorous nature and outgoing personality made him a beloved figure among his peers.

Outside of work, Frank embraced the outdoors and enjoyed camping at Chipmunk Bluff in upstate New York. He had a memorable, albeit unconventional, stint as the goalie for Universal Instrument's hockey team, despite not having mastered ice skating. Frank's love for cooking shone through during the company's annual clam bake, where he was known as "Mutt and Jeff" and created culinary delights that brought everyone together.

Retirement did not slow Frank down; instead, it opened new doors for him. He discovered a passion for woodworking and spent time creating beautiful prayer kneelers for fellow parishioners at St. Joseph's, a testament to his generous spirit and faith.

Family and friends will remember Frank for his vibrant personality, infectious laughter, and the way he never met a stranger. He leaves behind loving memories with his wife, Barbara, of Orlando; his daughter Teresa and son-in-law Dennis; his grandson Nicholas; his sister, Mariann Heath; and his brothers David Langevin, and Anthony Langevin and his wife Virginia.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Ann (Harlost) Langevin; a brother Joseph; and a sister Annmarie.

Our family would like to thank Advent Health South Hospice unit for the wonderful loving care in our time of need.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph Church - date and time to be announced.  Please check back here for further updates.
