IN REMEMBRANCE: THE LIFE AND LEGACY OF MR. FREDDIE MOBLEY SR.

Freddie was born to Lucie (Ruth) Mobley and Lace Baker in the town of Ludowici, Georgia in 1929. After the untimely death of his father, his mother moved to Florida with Freddie and her eldest son, Richard. Freddie attended Orange County Public Schools and was a proud member of the Jones High football team.

Freddie had innumerable accomplishments during his life including:

-U.S. Army [1st Tour of Duty] and U.S. Air Force [20 years, Retired 1966]

-Owner/Operator of Midway Mart [14 years]

-Delegate for the Florida Democratic Party

-Board Member of Sanford Hospital

-32nd Degree Mason AMVETS Member U.S. Postal Service [10 years, Retired 1994]

-Owner/Operator of Mobley Enterprise [20 years, Retired 2018]

-Board Member at New Bethel AME & Grant Chapel AME churches

Simply stated, Freddie was a man of Compassion, Honor and Service.

Freddie believed in love. He was married to the beautiful Julia Honor from 1950-1961. He later shared a special relationship with the statuesque Mildred Foster. Then, in 1964, Freddie married the love of his life, the effervescent Lenora Washington. During their 60+ years of marriage, MO & Nela touched the lives of people al/ over the state of Florida and beyond. She continues on in his stead.

Freddie was father to 5 daughters and 5 sons. Preceding him in death were Ramona Ann Howard (George) [20221, Larry [1953], and Carol Jean [2021]. His surviving children are Melvin (Vadelyn), Freddie Jr. (Brenda), Michael, Anita Smith, Darlene Scott (Willie), Lisa Walker and Lace (Tawana). His children blessed him with numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and even great-great grandchildren. Freddie out-lived most of his generation but leaves behind many loving relatives and friends.

Memorial service is Thursday, July 31, 2025 from 4pm to 6pm at the Grant Chapel AME Church, 387 E Franklin St, Oviedo, FL 32765.

Arrangements are by the Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Winter Park, FL Chapel.
