Gary Michael Milam, 70, passed away on May 13, 2026. Born on July 25, 1955, in Washington DC, Gary was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend whose kindness and generosity touched everyone who knew him.
Gary was a proud 1975 graduate of McKinley Technology High School. He dedicated many years of service as a machinist with Amtrak, where he worked from 1982 until his retirement in 2001. Gary raised his family in Prince George’s County, Maryland before retiring to Haines City, Florida.
Above all else, Gary loved and cherished his family. He was known for always being willing to lend a helping hand, offer support, and serve those he loved with a generous heart. Whether spending time at the beach, playing basketball, cooking meals for family gatherings, or simply enjoying the company of those closest to him, Gary found joy in creating memories with the people he loved most. He was also a lifelong fan of Michael Jackson, whose music brought him happiness throughout his life.
Gary is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Cynthia Milam; his daughters, Shanell Milam (Larry Gonzales), Shameana Singh (Mohan Singh), and Shantelle Perez (Ziggy Perez); his grandchildren, Eric Sigaran, Erica Sigaran, Chyna Sigaran, Shamoni Singh, Mariah Singh, Amia Singh, Allison Perez, Mohan Singh, Daniel Singh, Francisco Perez, and William Perez; and his great-grandchildren, Paris Milam and Iridessa Sigaran.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Agnes Milam; his brother, Bruce Milam; and his beloved grandson, Michael Milam.
Gary’s love, strength, and unwavering devotion to his family will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew him. His legacy of kindness, service, and love will continue through the many lives he touched.
