Gary Lee Poland, age 70, of Longwood, Florida passed away on Sunday, January 23, 2022 at AdventHealth Hospital Altamonte after a brief illness.
Gary was born on April 21, 1951 in Warsaw, KY; son to Mattie LaWanda (Hicks) Wilkinson and the late Henry Poland. On March 2, 1984, he married the former Karen Wright. Gary spent his working career in drywall, retiring as a drywall superintendent. He also had a love of the outdoors, and was particularly fond of deer hunting and fishing.
Gary is survived by his loving wife, Karen Poland of Longwood; his mother, Mattie LaWanda Wilkinson of Cummings, GA; daughters, Jennifer Lynn Griezsmer of Cincinnati, OH, Christa Marie Wright of Orlando, and Alanna Lee Carlson of Longwood; a son, Jason Muddiman of Daytona Beach, FL; eight grandchildren, Eve LeCours, Avery Clifton, Jaylin Kossler, Jordan Kossler, Jace Kossler, Kaitlyn Grieszmer, Kelsie Grieszmer, and Kamryn Grieszmer; a brother, John Poland and his wife, Zoryada, of Cummings, GA; and a sister, Patricia Herbert of Cummings, GA.
He was preceded in death by his father, Henry Poland; a son, Ricky Lee Poland; and a brother, Ronald Poland and his wife, Clara.
