Geraldine Lucille Athridge (LeBlanc), affectionately known as Gerry, passed quietly in her sleep under hospice care on August 12, 2026, in Altamonte Springs, Florida. She was 98 years old.
Born on October 7, 1927, in New Bedford, Massachusetts, Gerry’s life was marked by warmth, kindness, and enduring love for family. She grew up in Massachusetts, the cherished daughter of Andre and Exzelda LeBlanc. Throughout her long and fruitful life, Gerry’s steadfast devotion to those she loved shone brightly, guiding and inspiring all who knew her.
Gerry was a beloved wife to her late husband, Louis Athridge. Their partnership was defined by deep mutual respect and affection, and together they built a life centered on devotion, resilience, and shared joys. While Louis preceded her in death, his memory remained a source of comfort to Gerry throughout her later years.
Family was the foundation of Gerry’s world. She is lovingly remembered by her son, Robert Athridge, and daughter-in-law, Anita Athridge. Gerry’s influence extended to the next generations with her grandsons, Mark and his wife Jill, Joshua, and Andrew and his wife Kimberly Athridge —all of whom carry forward her legacy of warmth and care. She was a proud great-grandmother to AJ, Brooklyn Lucille, Georgie, and Michael Athridge, each of whom brought her immeasurable happiness and pride.
As Gerry journeyed through life, she was touched by both joy and loss, cherishing those beside her and holding dear the memories of loved ones who passed before. In addition to her beloved husband, she was predeceased by her parents, Andre and Exzelda LeBlanc; her brothers Raymond, Herve, and Cammy LeBlanc; and Maggie Athridge, who held a special place in her heart.
Gerry’s enduring spirit, gentle wisdom, and grace will be remembered by all whose lives she touched. Her familial bonds, unwavering faith, and loving nature define a legacy that stands as a testament to a life well lived—a life marked not only by longevity but by richness of character and depth of relationship.
