Ginette R. Conde, a devoted mother, grandmother, and pillar of her community, passed away on July 14, 2026, in Orlando, Florida, at the age of 90. Born on March 23, 1936, in the vibrant city of Ponce, Puerto Rico, Ginette grew up surrounded by the warmth of family and tradition, which she carried with her through every chapter of her remarkable life.
From an early age, Ginette exhibited a deep love for learning and a dedication to her education. She earned her bachelor's degree from Queens College, a milestone that would set the foundation for her lifelong journey as an educator. Ginette translated her knowledge, compassion, and tireless work ethic into her career as a teacher, eventually retiring after having touched countless lives with her nurturing spirit and unwavering commitment to her students.
Ginette’s family was the core of her existence. She is remembered with immense love by her children: Albert Conde, Lourdes Vazquez, Elizabeth Gazard, and Sandra Conde. Her late daughter Margaret Conde is lovingly recalled, as are Ginette’s parents, Angel Cordero and Adelaida Martinez, and her beloved husband, Hipolito Conde—known affectionately as El Negro—her partner and friend for 50 years. They built a home together filled with laughter, faith, resilience, and affection, providing a foundation for future generations.
Those who knew Ginette remember her as a woman of deep devotion, love, intelligence, and a spunky, hardworking spirit. Her faith guided her throughout her life, and she remained a religious devotee until her very last days. Ginette took immense pride in her service as a lector at St. Isaac Jogues Catholic Church, and she was an active and cherished member of the Divine Child Group within the church community. These roles nourished her spiritual life and allowed her to share her faith generously with others.
Ginette embraced life with enthusiasm, cultivating rich interests outside of her work and faith. She found joy in traveling, exploring new places and cultures with curiosity and openness. Shopping and gardening brought her peace and simple pleasures, while dancing filled her home with music and laughter. In the kitchen, Ginette created nourishing meals, bringing family and friends together to share in her culinary gifts. She was never happier than when surrounded by loved ones, and her role as “the best mom” filled her heart with pride.
A special companion in her later years was her beloved dog, Prince Nemo, whose presence brought Ginette comfort and unending affection. Her grandchildren and friends recall the warmth of her embrace, the wisdom of her guidance, and the strength of her unwavering love.
