Grace Joan Jones

Grace Joan “Joanie” Jones passed away on Sunday, January 25, 2026 in Orlando, FL at the age of 95. She was born on January 14, 1931 in Newark, NJ as one of eight sisters. Joanie enjoyed many of her younger years training horses and people to ride them.

She married William B. Jones in 1951. Bill was a career Air Force flight mechanic, and she traveled with him for many years when he was posted to many parts of the world. After his retirement in 1972, the couple settled in Central Florida. Joanie and Bill were married for 61 years until his death in 2012.

Later in life, Joanie learned to line dance by joining several local Orlando area classes, and dancing became her passion. She found great joy in the many friendships she made throughout the years. She also loved to play cards and other games with friends several times a week.

Joanie was a great storyteller, loved to tell corny jokes and had a wonderfully sarcastic sense of humor. She was always smiling and chatting up new friends wherever she went.

Joanie is survived by four of her sisters, Gloria, Margie, Marlene and Cynthia, as well as several generations of nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind many close friends. Grace “Joanie” Jones will be greatly missed by all. Godspeed.
