Harold Gene King of Sanford FL passed away on Wednesday May 7, 2025, at 80 years old.
He was born in Farmers Retreat, Indiana on June 17, 1944, to parents Harland and Thelma King. Harold is survived by one sister, Gayla (Mike) Halvorsen, one son Brad (Kellie), two grandsons; Spencer (Cierra McDaniel) and their daughter Mellie Kay, and Conner (Grace) and their daughter Cora, and one daughter, Dawn King. Harold has a special nephew and family he thought the world of, Willie and Nancy Davies, their children, Ryan (Sarah) and their daughters, Avery and Wren, and Kristie (Ray) Bulach and their daughter Cheyenne "Princess". In addition, Harold will be missed by a host of friends.
Harold served in the US Navy and was proud to say he helped build the first Boeing 747 to ever roll off the production lines. In later years he became an electrician. Harold enjoyed endless games of golf, and watching basketball at any opportunity. He never gave up on the hope that Caitlin Clark might marry him some day. He could be counted on to help any friend in need, even those he hadn’t met yet, and was never afraid to tell someone the truth about themselves.
He was preceded in death by his parents Harland and Thelma King, five brothers, Dorance Huffman, Herb Huffman, Wayne Huffman, Earl Huffman and Clifford King. Five sisters, Eloise Foutch, Leona Mae Hehe, Birdie Ungerbuehler, Patricia Hartman and Marcella Hugentobler.
A Celebration of Harold’s life will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2025, from 1 pm to 5 pm at The Forest Clubhouse, 400 N. Forest Blvd., Lake Mary, FL 32746.
