Hector Ortiz

Hector Ramon Ortiz, age 73, of New York, NY, entered into eternal rest to meet his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on April 2, 2026. Born on May 17, 1952, in New York, NY to Carmen Lydia and Jaime Ortiz, Hector was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, mentor, and friend to all.

Known for his kindness, humor, love of fishing, and above all his deep love for God, Hector touched countless lives through his compassion and encouragement. He lived each day bringing joy, hope, and the love of Christ to everyone he encountered.

He was the beloved husband of Millie for 52 years and a loving father to his children: Barbara, David, Shallie, Josef, Joel (spouse Julissa), Hector Ortiz Jr. and James Ortiz, remembering especially Hector Jr. and James who went before him.

Hector was a proud grandfather to Kemily Nina, Juliza Aneth, Zachary, Kylah Jordan, Elyssa Beth (spouse Bryant Gerada), Josiah Adam, Jediah David, Jianna Marie, Jazzlyn Anne, Jayden Nathaniel, David Isaiah, Jisella Coraline, Jaleah Grace, Jaylene Lauren, and Jonah Levi; and a cherished great-grandfather to Mia Keira, Aliza Lena, Bella Luna, and Zoey Sol.

He leaves behind a beautiful and lasting legacy through his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and the many friends who became family. His life was a reflection of love, grace, and unwavering faith, and his impact will be felt for generations to come. We thank the Lord for the time we were blessed to share with him and for the promise of being reunited again in eternity.

A viewing will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home on April 7, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A Celebration of Life service will take place at Faith Church Orlando, located at 9307 Curry Ford Rd, Orlando, on April 10, 2026, at 7:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Hector’s honor to Teen Challenge, a ministry he faithfully and joyfully served for the past three years.
