Helen A. Heil enjoyed a full life, 100 years with two wonderful husbands, family, friends and memories. Born in Cincinnati, Ohio on May 26, 1926, to Fredrick and Helen (Grasse) Harwood, she had one sibling, the late Alyce Higgin’s. Helen was the beloved wife of the late Franklin A. Heil, and the late George Tomaiko. She was a devout mother of Stephen P Heil (Martha Heil), Edward F Heil (Sandra Heil), and Susan M. Marcotte. Helen and Frank were legacy members of Sacred Heart Church in Fairfield.
Helen was an excellent homemaker, hosting large parties with friends and family, especially during the holidays. She was grandmother to nine, great-grand to thirteen, and great-great-grand of three. She loved being called Grandma, Gigi, Grammy, and G-Ma. Mom bought her last car at 90….,a red beauty like she had always wanted. Helen loved playing cards, Rummikub, working countless crossword puzzles. She traveled extensively, yet found the time to knit, Crochet and make gifts for family and friends.
Helen passed away in Oviedo, Florida on Saturday August 29th 2026. A funeral mass to celebrate Helen’s life well lived is Friday October 16 at Sacred Heart Church in Fairfield, Ohio. The service begins at 10AM. She had many friends, most recently at Lutheran Haven. Helen loved giving cards and gifts to her family, and beyond to organizations including the American Cancer Society, VFW and to many charitable organizations to list. In lieu of flowers, the family asks consideration of donation to American Cancer Society in memory of Helen A. Heil
