Hilda Ropizar

Hilda Peña Gómez Ropizar (Chilita) was born to Agustina Gómez and Francisco Peña on 4th November 1940. En Dajabón, República Dominicana. She is one of 10 children. Due to a clerical error, her birthday was registered as 4th January, 1941. She never felt the necessity to change it. Hilda radiated structure and a reserved demeanor. Her tenacity moved her forward into venturing out of her comfort zone and into an unfamiliar place to begin her growth process. Early in life, she ventured out of “El Cibao” to the Capital, Santo Domingo, and then to NYC, NY.

Hilda lived her life reflecting Christ in her generosity and her compassion for others. Born Catholic, she professed her faith midlife and was baptized when she vowed her devotion to Christ via the Pentecostal faith. She was a faithful and active servant participating in many facets of ministry. She was also always ready to beat anyone in “El Domino.” No one can deny her excellence in playing the game.

Hilda arrived in the US and landed in New York in her early 20s, and was the catalyst for all those in her family who wanted the opportunity of a better life in the USA. She managed to actively support and sponsor her relatives and even some friends. Her devotion to lifting those close to her was self-evident. Hilda was abundant and immensely blessed by God throughout her life.

Hilda was talented in directing and managing others. Starting as a factory worker in NYC, she became a Leather Artisan for handbags and accessories, working across many well-known luxury brands, and quickly became a “Sample Maker” and Team Supervisor. When factories left the USA, she took on a few other occupations, ending her working career taking care of seniors who needed home assistance. She also received a degree in Theology to enhance her service to her ministry.

Hilda married and had three children, Miguel Marino, Judith, & Maribel. She married Puerto Rican-born Isidro Ropizar, “Charlie”, in NYC on 1st of July, 1974, and was widowed on 17th February, 2017.

Hilda transitioned from this earthly life behind in her sleep on 11th March, 2026. She was greeted at the heavenly gates by her parents, Augustina and Francisco, her sisters, Faustina (Matiti), Angela, Candida (Candita), and Altagracia, and her brothers, Tomas (Vale), Victor, and Federico (Negro), and a host of grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins who transitioned before her.

Hilda leaves to mourn her passing, her grandchildren, Elizabeth and Yazmine, her children, Miguel, Judith, and Maribel, her sisters Maria Mireya Peña Ortiz and Ana (Dora) Peña, and a host of dear and loving nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Friends and family are invited to gather in remembrance and celebration of her life on Monday, March 23, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, Winter Park Chapel. A funeral service will begin at 1:00 PM in the chapel, followed by interment at Osceola Memory Gardens in Kissimmee, Florida.

Hilda Peña Gómez Ropizar (apodo Chilita) nació de Agustina Gómez y Francisco Peña el 4 de noviembre de 1941. En Dajabón, República Dominicana. Es una de diez hermanos. Debido a un error administrativo, su fecha de nacimiento fue registrada como el 4 de Enero de 1940. Nunca sintió la necesidad de cambiarlo. Hilda irradiaba estructura y un carácter reservado. Su tenacidad la llevó a salir de su zona de confort y a un lugar desconocido para comenzar su proceso de crecimiento. En su juventud, salió de "El Cibao" hacia la capital, Santo Domingo, y luego a Nueva York, Nueva York.

Hilda vivió su vida reflejando a Cristo en su generosidad y compasión por los demás. Nacida católica, profesó su fe a mediana edad y fue bautizada cuando juró su devoción a Cristo a través de la fe pentecostal. Fue una servidora fiel y activa que participó en muchas facetas del ministerio. Además, siempre estaba dispuesta a ganar a cualquiera en "El Domino". Nadie puede negar su excelencia jugando al juego.

Hilda llegó a Estados Unidos y llegó a Nueva York a principios de sus veinte años, y fue el catalizador para todos los miembros de su familia que querían la oportunidad de una vida mejor en Estados Unidos. Consiguió apoyar y apadrinar activamente a sus familiares e incluso a algunos amigos. Su devoción por levantar a quienes le rodeaban era evidente. Hilda fue abundante y fue inmensamente bendecida por Dios a lo largo de su vida.

Hilda tenía talento para dirigir y gestionar a otros. Comenzando como trabajadora en una fábrica en Nueva York, se convirtió en artesana del cuero en bolsos y accesorios, trabajando para muchas marcas de lujo conocidas, y rápidamente se convirtió en "Fabricante de Muestras" y Supervisora de Equipo. Cuando las fábricas abandonaron Estados Unidos, asumió algunas otras ocupaciones, terminando su carrera profesional cuidando a personas mayores que necesitaban asistencia en casa. También obtuvo un título en Teología para mejorar su servicio a su ministerio.

Hilda se casó y tuvo tres hijos: Miguel Marino, Judith y Maribel. Se casó con Isidro Ropizar, "Charlie", nacido en Puerto Rico, el 1 de Julio de 1974, y enviudó el 17 de febrero de 2017.

Hilda dejó atrás esta vida terrenal mientras dormía el 11 de marzo de 2026. Fue recibida en las puertas celestiales por sus padres, Augustina y Francisco, sus hermanas Faustina (Matiti), Angela, Candida (Candita) y Altagracia, y sus hermanos Tomás (Vale), Víctor y Federico (Negro), y una multitud de abuelos, tías, tíos y primos que habían pasado antes que ella.

Hilda deja para lamentar su partida, a sus nietos Elizabeth y Yazmine, a sus hijos Miguel Marino, Judith y Maribel, a sus hermanas María Mireya Peña Ortiz y Ana (Dora) Peña, y a una multitud de queridos sobrinos, parientes y amigos
