James "Jim" Oglesbee, born on January 24, 1943, in Miami, Florida, departed this life on July 16, 2025, in Longwood, Florida, after a courageous battle with heart issues over the past five years. He lived a full and dedicated life, making contributions both personally and professionally throughout his years.
Jim devoted a significant portion of his working life to the roofing and property maintenance industries, spending ten years as a roofer and an impressive thirty years at Morbitzer Group and Southeastern Realty Group combined. His commitment to quality work and his reliability earned him respect among colleagues and clients alike.
Jim was a loving husband to his wife, Paula Oglesbee. His family was special to him, and he cherished the relationships he held with his step-daughter, Trish DeBell, and son-in-law, Robert DeBell. His role as a grandfather to Jenna-Raehn DeBell brought him immense joy and pride. He also shared a close bond with his siblings, sisters Lela and Beatrice, and brothers Horace, Larry, and Fred. Jim's deep faith and strong values guided his actions and interactions throughout his life.
Jim enjoyed playing the guitar and singing, and he found peace sitting outside on his back porch to watch the birds. He was a fan western movies and didn't mind watching the same one multiple times. Jim also held a special place in his heart for his church family, which provided him with support and community throughout his life.
Jim's funeral service will take place on July 26, 2025, at Starlight Baptist Church, located at 350 Hayes Rd, Winter Springs, Florida, starting at 11:00 AM, followed by burial at Oaklawn Park Cemetery at 4991 Co Rd 46A, Lake Mary, Florida, at 1:00 PM.
Remembered as a good husband, a caring family man, and a man of deep faith. His passing is a significant loss, and he will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate enough to share in his life.
