Janetta Danielsen October 11, 1952 – March 10, 2026

Janetta Danielsen passed away on March 10, 2026, in Orlando, leaving behind a family that will feel her absence every single day.

She was born October 11, 1952, in Upper Tract, West Virginia, and from early on, Janetta was someone who made up her own mind. At 18, she took an opportunity with the FBI, and later the CIA, that brought her to Washington, DC. There she met John H. Danielsen, fell in love, and married him in 1977. They were together for nearly 50 years, and he will tell you she was the best wife he could have imagined. In 1980, their son John A. was born, and he immediately became the center of their universe. Janetta spent the rest of her life making sure the people she loved never wanted for anything.

Professionally, Janetta spent nearly 30 years as a manager for the Better Business Bureau, where colleagues described her as steadfast, patient, intelligent, and the epitome of grace. She helped thousands of people through her work.

At home, her garden was something to behold. She had the kind of green thumb that makes serious gardeners a little envious, and the ability to make even stubborn plants decide to thrive. She loved puzzles, old movies, and shopping. She loved her cats with a devotion that her family understood completely: Louie, Stewie, and Scotty over the years, and her grandcats Sammy, Sonny, Teddy, Rocky, and Ollie, who she treated as the extended family they were.

She had a great sense of humor. She was more dedicated to her family and friends than most people could imagine, and somehow, even while pouring everything into the people closest to her, she still had room for neighbors, old friends, and anyone who needed her.

None of it, at home or at work, was ever about recognition. She just did what needed doing, steadily, completely, without fanfare.

Janetta is survived by her husband John H.; her son and daughter-in-law, John and Allison; her brothers Curtis Kimble Jr., Jack Kimble, and James "Dale" Kimble; her aunt Mary; her niece Christine; her nephew Tony; her brother-in-law Jim and his wife Marti; She was preceded in death by her father, Curtis Kimble, and her mother, Evelyn McGuiness.

True to form, Janetta hated big gatherings and would have had something to say about this write-up, too, so her immediate family will hold a private ceremony in her honor.

In lieu of flowers, please consider supporting A Kitten Place, a rescue dedicated to saving homeless and orphaned kittens and cats. It's exactly what she would have wanted.
