John Labrie, known affectionately as "Pepa",  "Big John" and "Porkchop," passed away on May 19, 2026, in Winter Park, Florida. Born on August 26, 1955, in Miami, Florida, he lived a life marked by dedication, humor, and a deep commitment to his family.

John served his country in the US Army for four years before embarking on a distinguished 35-year career with Cemex/Rinker, where he drove a cement truck and trained new drivers. His steadfast work ethic and pride in providing for his loved ones were central to his life.

A man with a stubborn streak and a penchant for telling jokes, John was known for his "my way or no way" attitude, but always put family first. He enjoyed air boating and spending time outdoors, embracing the freedom those activities offered.

John is survived by his wife, Selena Labrie; his daughter, Charlene Stanton; granddaughters Haley Stanton and Baylee Labrie; and his sister, Darlene Schatzman. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Labrie; mother, Irma Labrie; and son, JohnJohn Labrie.

John’s proudest accomplishment was his ability to take care of his family, a legacy that will continue through those he loved most.
