John Daniel McLean was born on July 22, 1961, in Nuremberg, Germany, to John A. McLean, a U.S. Army serviceman, and Ethyl J. McLean. Shortly after his birth, the family relocated to El Paso, Texas, where John was raised alongside his siblings.
From a young age, John developed a deep love for cars, a passion he shared with his father. As a teenager, he spent countless hours working on vehicles and even going on to race stock cars. That love of mechanics led him to a lifelong career in the automotive and mechanical fields.
John served 18 years working as a government contract mechanic, specializing in military tanks before dedicating nearly 22 years of service to Southwest Airlines, where he rose through the ranks to become Orlando’s Lead GSE (Ground Support Equipment) Mechanic, earning the respect and admiration of his colleagues.
A man of strong Catholic faith, John’s life was rooted in devotion to both God and family. He was known for his hard work, generosity, and quiet strength.
John is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Donna McLean. He is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Nancy McLean; his daughter, Christina Clary, Son-In-Law, Eric Clary, and Grandson Wyatt Clary ; his sister, Trish; his brother, Joe; and his nieces Monique, Celeste, and Tanya.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.
