Kathleen Marie Montague

April 3, 1951 — April 22, 2025

Orlando, FL

Kathleen Marie Montague, age 74, of Orlando, Florida, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, after a courageous battle with Parkinson’s disease and dementia. She is finally at rest and free from the suffering she endured with extraordinary resilience.

Born in Boston on April 3, 1951, Kathleen was the daughter of Hugh J. Montague and Pauline W. Montague (maiden – Becker), who both predeceased her in death. Orlando became her home as a small child after the family was moved from Boston to Baltimore, and then to Central Florida when her father, Hugh, accepted a job at Martin Marietta. The family settled in the Pine Hills area where parts of the extended family still reside today.

Kathleen was a proud and dedicated E.R. nurse who managed Princeton Hospital until she was forced to step away in here early 40s after being diagnosed with a brain tumor and the treatment caused disability. She is survived by her loving sister, Pat Acker, her daughter, Jennifer Nichole Myers, her three grandchildren, Nichole, Robert and Brooke Myers, and her deliciously handsome, intelligent and overachieving son (Kathleen’s humor), Stanley Allen Fisher, all of whom stood by her side throughout her illness.

Kathleen was a true original – bold, funny, sharp-witted and larger than life. She had many passions including four-legged furry friends, charity, comedy, sugar, cigarettes and lemon bundt cake. She made it her mission to bring laughter wherever she went. One unforgettable holiday, in classic Kathy fashion, she replaced the usual greeting cards with a full-on roast of her family – just like a Comedy Central special. That was her: fiercely authentic, hilariously honest, and never one to hold back.

Her final wishes were simple and clear – no formal ceremony, just love, laughter and memories. Those who knew here are invited to celebrate her life in their own unique way: with a smile, a good story or even a playful roast in her honor.

After nearly three decades of health battles, Kathleen’s long journey has come to a close. Her family is deeply greatful for the friends, caregivers, and supporters who stood by them – especially during the last five years, when the road was most difficult.
