Kim Douglas Moore

Kim Douglas Moore, 72, of Winter Springs, Florida, passed away on October 19, 2025. He was born on June 1, 1953, in Chilhowie, Virginia, the beloved son of Margy and John Moore.

A true jack of all trades with a strong work ethic, Kim built and ran a successful residential and commercial inspection business, Douglas Inspection Service, with his wife, Sherri Moore. Known for his meticulous work and expertise, he was widely respected in his field and admired by all who knew him.

Kim’s passions extended beyond work. He loved bourbon, blues music, and great conversation. He had a unique, witty, and wonderfully offbeat way of looking at the world — the kind of person who never met a stranger and made it his mission to make everyone laugh. After retiring, he found a new creative outlet in comedy, performing stand-up in Orlando venues well into his seventies. He even took up baking, bringing cakes and muffins to friends just to brighten their day.

He is survived by his best friend and former wife, Sherri Moore; daughters Sabrina Collins (Paul) and Brandi Savarese; granddaughters Brittani Risbrook, Julia Shannon, and Natalie Whetzel Burnsmier; and great-grandchildren Elijah and Isiah Risbrook, Hudson, Emme, and Henry Shannon. He also leaves behind his sister Amrah (Paul) Boquist, brother Thomas Keith Moore (Claudia), and niece Jaclyn McGukin.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at:

Reception: A reception will follow the memorial at Carrabba’s Italian Grill (Winter Springs) from 2:00–4:00 p.m.
